Then I realized how futile it is to ever explain to her why music is hard. No one should ever try to explain why music is hard to anyone who isn’t a musician. Real talk: they will never understand the insanity that drove you to pursue this career. And that’s OK, you shouldn’t expect that (just hope for appreciation).
the same thing goes for morgan, but the worst part about it is, she IS an artist, so she SHOULD get the concept of art getting really hard to do all of a sudden.
me: well, i was acting manic all week when i wrote that story, and then it came out good, so i felt really validated and chill. but that’s the problem, now i can’t write anything remotely creative
morgan: have you even tried?
me: i mean, yeah.
morgan: obviously not hard enough.
me: what?
morgan: it’s not that hard to sit in front of a computer and write about your life.

Just kidding, guys, I really just wanted to use those Cursive lyrics in context. What I really mean is that I understand. Writing is hard. I mean, writing my thesis was impossible, even though I talked about it and my research almost every day. I would be a really miserable freelancer, so I am very glad I’m not headed in that direction.
